DIY Printer Fixing Guide
there is no way a printer of such expense cant print red and black properly
One of the biggest problems in this industry, in my opinion, is manufacturers selling people printers and telling them that it's turnkey out of the box. That sells printers but it's not as simple as they say. If you want to maximize your color gamut and print good blacks and reds, making a custom color profile and linearizing occasionally is the way you do it. They don't tell you that because it costs a lot of money for the equipment and training to be able to do it properly and, when every other manufacturer is marketing their printers as turnkey, it's a competitive disadvantage to do so.

This is true; yet, the Colorado is one of the best I've seen for being able to match color from one printer to the other with the same profile.

I think the multilayer printing will work with one of the white modes, and both layers set to cmyk. I just don't have the white in hardware or license, I also believe (uneducated) that the normal gloss specialty single layer print should be providing substantially better results than it is. we will see when they come back with the colour measuring tool.

I also tried a double layer illustrator file with the second layer set as Spot 2, to it prints gloss with what i beleive is a 22 pass in flxfinish+ mode, and it still wasnt acceptable.

Hi! I recently got the Canon Colorado M3W Pro. It prints absolutely amazingly! The black is super rich, just like all the other colors! I’ve tried all the modes, and everything runs pretty effortlessly. I have an Onyx Go Plus subscription. Unfortunately, this subscription doesn't work with PRISMAguide, but I’m managing everything directly in Onyx without any issues.
