Opening a Flexi 8 file with 7.6

Is there a way to open a flexi 8 file with 7.6 I'm currently using 7.6 and got an email with two flexi files this morning and havent had any luck trying to open them I keep getting a unexpected file format message. Hopefully this is a quick fix.

Either have them export it and save it as 7.5 or open it in Illustrator and import it to your 7.6 as eps.

I thought I would ask I have been using autocad for years and there is an add-on you can get for it called dwggateway where it allows you to open any year file to an extent of course. Sounds like something like this would be great for flexi users.
