Opening illustrator files in flexi

I have the Mutoh edition of flexi that came with the falcon and ultima cutter. I do all my design work in illustrator. Now when I go to contour cut in flexi I saved the file as an eps 8 and it all opens up fine in flexi but when I go to contour cut it doesnt cut in the correct places, it reads the box fine though. Now I had a friend save the same file in flexi and he emailed me the file in an eps that he saved in flexi and it cut just fine. Is there a certain type of eps I need to save for it to work correctly? I really appreciate any help.

try right click and unmask :0) remove the top layer (square)

Why save an Illustrator file as eps for Flexi? Flexi opens native ai files fine for us. At least Flexi 8.6 does. That being said Flexi does often mask clipping paths and you may have to unmask some layers as Dizzy said.
