OPOS Cutting to Gerber P2C 1200 without Omega

Does anyone have any experience cutting a design with OPOS on a Gerber P2C 1200 without using Omega?

This is what I have done so far:

1. Downloaded and installed the Summa Cutter Tools and WinPlot (The P2C is a re-branded Summa Printer).

2. Used the Summa plugin to create the OPOS marks on my design

3. Printed the design on reflective vinyl using my ColorSpan flatbed printer

4. Imported the cutlines to WinPlot. I click "Send to OPOS" and it crashes the program so I am stuck.

The Summer Cutter Tools can recognize the plotter as a P2C 1200, but the WinPlot program is still having issues. Has anyone tried this setup before or is there something easier I can do? Thanks for ANY help in advance!

Hi, Hydro

My first thought is the reflective vinyl you are trying this on. I would start w/ white vinyl and print your target in black.

You should also check that your OPUS sensor are working by:
Check if OPOS is connected.

1. Make sure there is no media in the machine and then power the machine on. Put the OPOS in the up position. Take a piece of white paper and place it under OPOS and then lower OPOS unit. Check whether there is a reflection of red light visible while lowering it. When OPOS is down check whether or not it is perpendicular to the base.
Check if OPOS is enabled.

2. Go to -> user config -> system setup -> special load. There you should have the choice between X ALIGN, XY ALIGN, XY ADJUST and OPOS. If there are only three choices, then OPOS has not been enabled and will need to be enabled with Summa Cutter Control. It is only natural that ‘OPOS’ has to be selected here.
Check if the sensor in OPOS works.

3. Go to -> internal tests -> system tests -> optical sensor. Press ‘enter’. On the lower line of the LCD there is now a value. Check whether this value is low when white is underneath OPOS and high when there is black underneath OPOS. The OPOS must be in the down position touching the vinyl for this test.
