Your going to get different opinions but I would go with solvent all day long and I always choose 4 color because it works for me but if you want a wider color chart then 6 is the way to go. Solvents are much harsher on your printer but if you take care of it and clean it as your supposed to then I don't see the problem. Just my 2c

I'll also point out one incorrect bit of information. 6 color does NOT give you any wider color range or gamut. Light Cyan and Light Magenta are still cyan and magenta, adding lighter versions of the same color is impossible to make additional gamut. All LcLm does is give you slightly smoother gradients and transitions in certain colors and is only going to be really noticeable on photographic prints intended for viewing at a couple of feet away. Even then you will be heard pressed to tell the difference. 6 color does also cut the speed of your printer in half, literally. It runs twice as fast as dual CMYK. Full solvent does have greater durability and fade resistance but it also has much much stronger odor, good ventilation is mandatory.

Absolutely correct it is smoother gradients not ness better color. Also a very good point about the fade resistance and odor.
