Original Gerber Edge Pictures FTP-300

I was cleaning my original Gerber Edge - I use this machine as a backup ( rarely needed). I replaced the shocks- and then decided to pull the top cover off to epoxy repair a few cracks, and replace felts that align the large pins for the print head assembly.

I then decided to remove side covers, front and back covers for cleaning- this thing was very dusty dirty.

no particular purpose for the pictures- but I like others am amazed at the engineering and "toughness" that went into this small machine:

enjoy:

Shame that engineering and technology couldn't carry over to the Maxx or their inkjet printers. I know you guys love the edge but printing at only 11.5" has got to hinder you. I know guys who have made money at it but can't understand why their other products failed so dismally.

We still run ours here almost every day. We also have an Edge 2 that runs daily. For those that don't understand why we still run them; there are still many advantages to them. We even still run them alongside the 3 large-format printers here. Great machines, great quality. Compare that to an HP latex printer's quality and get back to me. ;)
