Paper Label Media

We have several clients that have started wanting adhesive paper labels for products they sell.
The larger quantities ( 100+) we outsource, the problem we are having is that from time to time they need small runs of a product and do not want a 100 labels.
I think our best option here is to print these in house using our Roland TrueVis VG540.
In researching the media, I found Roland ESM-SGPA which from what I read should work just fine.

My question is will this product work on products like bags of jerky?
We need something that is comparable to the labels that we have been getting from our wholesale printer and the eco-sol ink will not run or scratch off.
Is the ESM-SGPA the media I need?

Thanks

I just learned how to change my title status
I've used that exact media for jerky bag labels. Be advised it's quite thick (not a bad thing) and very aggressive adhesive, also not bad - IF you're forewarned about it. It IS a bit of a pain to peel from the backing if you don't have some sort of tab, so plan that with your cuts. Leave a little courtesy tab of backing sticking out and you're fine. Don't do that and you'll struggle to get the label to separate from the liner. Hope that helps.

Also, 100 isn't really that big of a quantity. You'll likely be able to easily bring those in-house as well I'd think.

Drytac just launched a new adhesive-backed paper. It comes in a matte finish and is pretty economical. Roland doesn't make any consumables (other than ink) so you are going to pay more than you need to with a Roland branded paper product. Comes in a bit of an odd size at 49"x98' and sells for $236.94. If you want a test roll send me your UPS or FedEx number...the test roll is free but you have to cover the few bucks in shipping.

I started handling those tiny runs with a small pigment inkjet setup so I could print a handful of labels without wasting a full batch
Using LabelBasic made it easy to pump out waterproof, ready-to-apply labels that didn’t smear, even on matte stock
The colors aren’t super punchy compared to dye inks, but clients like the durability and the quick turnaround

just curious. what is the difference with these and putting them through your little office deskjet printer with avery dennison labels from office depot?

I could run 100 labels through my little office deskjet if they are paper.
