Being a grandpa is more fun than working
Perhaps you caught it on the news that the last remaining WW1 Veteran passed away yesterday. Truly a sad moment in history.

I have an unusually close tie to the back story through my line of work.
I engrave death dates on cemetery memorials, and I had the honor of placing the passing date on the stone of Russell Coffey, in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green, Ohio several years ago. He was one of the three remaining vets that also included Buckles.
Technically, Mr. Russell was still in basic training by the time the war ended, but in my book, he's every bit the hero. Mr. Russell was 109 at the time of his death. Here's his bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Coffey

Truly the end of a great generation.
