Photoshop CC Question

Good afternoon. Weird thing has happened a few days this week while on Photoshop. Unit of measure is in inches, ruler is in inches. However, when I go to set a guideline, it's "locked" on pixels. I can still drag the ruler and place a guide, but sometimes need to be exact...

See attached. Anyone have a workaround?

Not sure what you mean by locked - that setting doesn't look grayed out. Have you tried just typing "in" for inches replacing "px" for pixels?

yes, and it reverts back to "px"

Ok, but did it place the guide where you want it? I just tried it - I put in 2 in and that's where it placed the guide - looks like you'll have to change it from px to in each time.

Some programs will do the conversion internally, but will default back to their original units settings. So if you something like 2" or 2in etc, the conversion will be done internally.

Have you globally changed the units in Ps within the Preferences menu (Units & Rulers I think is the sub section you want)? Could have had an update that may have changed that setting as I think Adobe has had this as a bug after some recent ones. Some type of "Modern User Interface" preview.

Gotta love always being on the latest and greatest and getting to "preview" new stuff while in production.

Bloody updates - PS canvas size has been defaulting to pixels for the last couple of months. And lightroom not allowing long edge to export in mm at 300ppi, only exact dimensions in pixels.
