Place and Outline?

The Vector Doctor posted a very helpful tip and trick some time ago about how to place a file in illustrator as a link, then use the rasterization tools to outline the fonts. A very useful tool if you don't happen to have the fonts required in the artwork that was sent to you.

My question is is there a way to do something similar to this in Flexi? I rec'd a .fs file from a guy I'm doing some work for and I don't have one of the two fonts that are in the drawing.

Is there a way?

doubt it - cant he just outline the fonts and resend?

Or have him weld the font so it's not a font anymore just a vector.

Thanks for the replies. I have already called him to resend the file, I was just hoping for an answer to this problem as I use the aforementioned illustrator trick all the time. Sure is handy.
