Plotter Head Solenoid Making Buzzing Sound

I have a Graphtec FC7000-75 and sometimes the plotter head solenoid makes buzzing sounds for a couple of seconds and then it raises up very slightly and stops.
Is the solenoid bad? or is the mainboard sending a signal? The cutter is fairly new with little use so I don't think it is a wear issue. Any suggestions?
