changing the value doesn't affect the test cut, but it will affect actual jobs. There is also a second test print in the service menu. If this is a print and cut with cropmarks, then it's the crop-cut adjust in the service menu you want to look at.

also, if you just print and cut say, a 1 inch black square, is it accurate? is it more or less accurate if it is on the left side vs the right?

first off thank you Rragnabrok for all your help this week,
I was just doing a print cut test without crops after crash repair, my .100 contour cut is 100% to right and 0 on left , after reading your reply i tried a cropmark cut first time since crash and got 0111 code, I will go back to service mode and try cut adjustment and report thank you

service call 0111 comes up as the crop mark sensor adjustment has not been performed. Have you replaced the main board, or initialized the parameters? not sure if a factory reset could have caused that either.

in the service menu->cropmark sens->outlevel check and test print. It prints a square and parks the crop mark reader over it. the screen reads out the voltage from the sensor, and ideally it should be 2.5v +/- 0.2.

out level print shows 3.8v made adjustment and rechecked 4/5 times immediately after test print it now reads 2.6v , after it sits for a few min it fluctuates a bit and shows 1.5v min 3.0 max, do another test print and it shows 2.6v is that normal? still not finding crop mark

Given that it's an sp300, i'd lean towards the cut carriage cable. It carries the power for the cut solenoid, the crop mark sensor, and pinch roller sensors. Usually it's not an on/off issue with that cable, more intermittant. You could test it with the sensor check in service mode with some white vinyl loaded, move the cut carriage over the vinyl and grab a black piece of vinyl or paper and wave it under where the sensor is. you should see on the screen one of the letters has an asterisk under it that turns on and off as the black passes under the sensor. With the black beneath it, move the carriage along from one side to the other, and see if that asterisk flickers, since it shouldn't if the cable maintains the signal.

in sensor check / cut head doesn't release from carrier, moves about one inch with carrier and stops display as follows

F R S H O C P L W c w / with asterisk under all except F and H even tho cutter is not over white paper I can still get black under cutter and asterisk lights up under F and goes away when black removed ,there is no way I can slide cutter across, when I leave sensor check it parks back correctly, did a crop test in service mode print square and cut fine,
guess I need a service menu

in the service menu go to cap +wiper control->cap->open to release the head from the caps, move the head out to the middle of the print area and go back to the sensor check. the "S" is the crop mark sensor. if the cable is good, an asterisk will appear under the "S" when you pass black vinyl under the tool carriage. Try it across a few points on the print area.

ok that works / every time I slide black under head the asterisk come on under S , and does so all the way across, also no asterisk under o c w at this time in this mode

huh, rabbit hole goes deeper. One of the old tricks when cuts get tricky, is to set all print/cut values in user and service mode to 0, and in the service mode print cut adjust, use the auto setting. Sometimes this can clear odd issues and the printer be happy after.

in menu set everything to 0 then hit auto and 0111 , so went to service mode set everything to 0 then auto , printed square and cut ok, back to regular menu zero everything hit auto again finely went through a cycle and said complete, printed small piece with crops and NOW ITS WORKING, went back to print cut adj , did test print, feed good, scan -1 still to right , set values to 0 feed ok and scan now reads -0.5 still to right but better,

thanks Rangabbok things are looking brighter LOL
