Print & Cut Registration on Boss Laser?

Running a Boss - HP 3655 155w with Lightburn. New to this laser and lightburn. We do have the Boss Vue camera system on it. Does anyone have a good tutorial on how to do a print & cut registration setup? We are printing on acrylic with a Direct Color Systems printer. We have been doing all our cutting on a Zund router, but the laser would give a cleaner finish.

Lightburn only really has print/cut using two point registration which is pretty problematic. It works for certain things but can get out of square or scale weird pretty quick. There are good videos made by lightburn on their youtube. It is not like print/cut on a finishing table or vinyl plotter/cutter.

I did some succesful tests wholesaling from S365 reverse print acrylic and then cutting on our laser (omtech pro3655 150w very similar to your boss) with good results.

For regular shapes and repeated cuts like ADA signs I would use a sacrificial piece or somehow mark the actual cut lines on the laser bed and the use that to visually register the piece to be cut.

Agreed with everything Evan said. I've also had mixed results with the lightburn print/cut. They really need at least three point registration. Four would be ideal.

The best bet is to cut a jig so you know exactly where the cut will be on the laser.
