Print laminate cut, cut is too small and not matching the size of the print

SC540I printed an image, had the printer print registration marks, everything worked fine. laminated print, put back into printer, aligned registration marks, used auto align to do it, went to cut, but the cut was smaller then the print. It looked like it knew what it was doing, but the actual cut line was probably 40% smaller than print image. I did cut the material down and resetup so the size of the material was smaller. Would that cause it. I will try again, but takes a while to print and laminate. Any ideas??
Its a fairly easy cut so I will had cut one so I dont have to waste time and material, just want to know for next time.

I would never touch said "material" with crop marks nor would you want to "resetup" a project yet to be cut, because this sort of thing is expected.

I'm suprised the printer actually accepted the laminated media that was cut down.. I assume this printer does not need to check media width before starting a run.

Anyway- keep the project the same, just change "Print Only" to "Cut Only" and make adjustments only to the cut settings. You want to keep the dimensions, pinch rollers, and all that good stuff the exact same.

Thats what I though. Unfortunately, when I do that, it ties up the machine until drying and laminating is done. Kind of sucks. :banghead:

I don't know your workflow, but it shouldn't tie it up that much. I am in a small worksho- er.. office with my XR-640 next to me all day, and I try to maximize productivity.

I batch cutting and printing jobs whenever possible and treat the two as separate passes. I could have a 30" roll loaded for the next print, but will be cutting a 61" job waiting to print on that 30" ASAP.

As long as I save my projects for cuts, it does not effect the next printing batch- I have "approximate marks" on the media holder bar with common widths so loading takes less brain power.

But yeah.. print, lam, dry, repeat sucks..
