So it has been an unusually slow day at the shop and, quite frankly, I was getting bored to tears. So, I decided to treat the JV33 to a spa day.
I got out the alcohol, cleaning solvent, 3-in-1 oil, gloves and screwdrivers and set to work. I "field stripped" it and cleaned everything I could find to clean, oiled all the rails and slides, repeatedly flushed the lines/pumps, soaked and scrubbed the capping station, etc. My workhorse is looking prettier than it has since I started working here.
In the process of all of this I noticed a few things that needed to be tweaked and/or repaired. So not only is the printer as clean as the day it was born, I was able to correct some potential problems before they became more serious issues. Bonus.
How often, if ever, do ya'll REALLY clean your printers? Not just the day-to-day cleaning, but really get into all the hard to reach areas?
