Printhead replacement urgent question!!

I paid good money for you to read this!
Hey everybody, I'm replacing a dx4 printhead; I do have the service manual.
After running the "pump up" to drain the ink I noticed that the new printhead rattles a little when turned over, specifically it makes a click like something inside is shifting.

I'm not going to install the head without addressing it with the printhead vendor, but that'll be Tuesday, hence my
urgent question - Can I leave the printer for 48 hours with the cartridges removed and the heads "pumped up?"

Also - there's still a lot of ink in the lines! Should I run pump up again before replacing the head?
Edit - should I use a syringe instead of "pump up"? Unfortunately I already did the pump up on all 4 heads :banghead:

I can't remember any heads making noise when they are turned over, but it's not really something i listened for.

You don't need to do a pump up for changing a head, unless you were changing the colour (going from a 4 colour to a 6, or vise versa)

I'd leave the cartridges in, if you lose pressure somewhere, ink rolls back to the cartridges. If they are not in, it'll move somewhere you don't want it to.

Ink tends not to dry up in the lines, so half full shouldn't be an issue for a few days. ink DOES tend to dry in that range on the head surface (if uncapped) or the caps themselves (also if uncapped).

4 heads sounds like it's a VP, or 4 head stems on an SP. Either way, if you are concerned drop some cleaning solution in the caps and park the heads over them. No need to clamp lines and soak the heads, just keep it from turning from ink to resin.

Unfortunately I went to a wedding and forgot about this (if it'd been my own wedding that would've been an excuse!) I left the cartridges out overnight and came in to this -

Apparently my cap tops all need replacing? (Of course I was planning on replacing all of them when I replaced this print head )

Anyhow, the floor cleaned up fairly wellish, and all printheads have been re-inked and are firing, doesn't appear to be any internal damage from ink. I really want to install this black ink head but I shot an unboxing of it and have the rattling sound on video, waiting to see what vendor says before going forward.
