Printing Issue on the SP-300

I was wondering if anyone here has seen this before on a Roland SP-300.
It looks like the image is slurring as the head moves.
It actually distorts the image...Even did it on the Test Prints.
I've tried disconnecting power...resetting the printer and the rip...
this is a new problem for me...i could use a little direction...would be really appreciated!

clean your encoder strip ("clear" strip running along the top of the carriage, full length of printer - DO NOT clean with printer head/wiper cleaner)

looks like your bidi alignment is a bit out of whack too

did this have any effect on just cutting (not print/cut)? Im having a similar problem where my print eventually slides off the vinyl. It cuts just fine but does something like yours when printing. Ill try cleaning my strip and see the outcome.
