Printing issue

My jv3 is having a banding issue so I tried the run media comp we I did the gray bars were a bunch of gray strips...
Whats kinda weird is the nozzle test shows all the nozzles working fine...
any ideas

Encoder Strip - Mine was banding like that once, and it was a blob of cyan on the encoder strip. Worth a try first anyway...

Most likely a bad head here. When i head starts to fail naturally, it has a harder time firing the smaller dots. The test print uses the biggest dots so it can look like it is fine until you try to print high quality. Print a job on high resolution variable dot settings and then the same file using low res fixed dot. If the low res file prints better, it's most likely the head unfortunately.

Im going to check these things out when i get a chance .... might be time to retire this old work horse...
