printing small text with my jv33?

need to do a drop position calibration probably. Unless you're printing something like 2 pt... Also try resaving the file as a .tiff instead of a .jpg, or try a vector format like an .eps. If all is good with the file, I still suspect the drop pos.. For small text it has to be dead on or your text will be blurry.

Also printing in uni-directional helps with small fine printing......

Case

Yes and no, if your drop position is calibrated perfectly, which it should be anyway, you should be able to print very small text in bidir.. We've printed as small as 4pt at 8 pass high speed bidir. with no blurriness. Unidir helps a little as the drop position doesn't have to be quite as perfect, but like I said, it should be dialed in right anyway, overall your print quality will be much better, and you can print in bidirectional without blurriness.

First make sure you file is the right resolution. Since it's 3/16" text I'd stay at 300ppi.

Then calibrate your bidirectional, slow down the speed, up the printing resolution.

If still blurry, stick to unidirectional and lower the head height.

If it's in color you might want to try printing @ 24 or 32 pass for a smoother dot. Especially if the color has any black content.
