Hi! I have a problem with a lamination that I purchased on August 24 and have already used for three jobs (Avery DOL 6000FR, R10). The lamination is contaminated internally with some sort of brown debris! Have you ever run into this defect? Unfortunately they appear suddenly and at random heights along the 137cm, often ruining the prints (which I have to redo). I asked the supplier for an explanation and he asked me to give him the batch number of the roll. I went to check and it turns out that the roll was produced on December 9, 2020. The supplier assured me that such an old lamination shouldn't give any problems, but now I've had problems with delamination or lamination that seems to not sticking very well. A few minutes ago I cutted some laminated stickers, tried to remove them from their backing and didn't succeed smoothly, in fact, I lifted the lamination almost leaving behind the underlying printing film (an avery mpi 2006 high tack). I've only used 13m out of 50m so far and I'll probably return it, but the last roll also had contamination issues and I have a feeling that might be an old batch too.
So can a 1 year old lamination cause these problems?
EDIT: After a closer inspection, I noticed that it's not dirt, but more of a burn. It appears to be part of the lamination. Can't remove it with a cutter.
Again, has anyone run into this defect?
