Profiles & Usable Settings for XPJ-1641 Banner Print Jobs

- The title says it all.
I am having difficulty finding any usable banner profiles for the Mutoh XPJ-1641.
I have some Avery and Ultrajet profiles but either one yields terrible banding on black.

I'd also be very grateful for any setup tips for banner material on this machine.

As always, TIA!!!

Have you run the 720x720 for JetFlex? I use the 1624x profile for JetFlex on my 1624X and the results are stellar.
I would think the canned 1641 profile for your 1641 should work the same.

You may try running a SAV profile like 3M IJ180C or a high quality profile and see if that clears up the banding.
If it still bands I would suspect you need to calibrate the media feed.

That looks pretty rough even if the profile is bad. Are you sure you are printing on the right side of the banner? It might be reverse wound which can be counter intuitive sometimes. Other than that I would turn up the heat and try using a regular vinyl profile like the 3M one rjssigns mentioned.

not reverse wound.
- I'll try some vinyl profiles & see what it looks like.
Thanks for your response!!!

Actually, the setup has been spot on & head has zero probs.
I'll try your suggestion for a vinyl profile & see what happens.
- What would be your thoughts on head height with a vinyl profile?

TIA!!!

Yes, I did try Jetflex 720X720.
- Far fewer profiles are available for the 1641 than the 1624.
...I wish I had the old machine up & running at times like this.

Thanks for responding & I will try the UI180C!
