Question on new MB Sprinters

I have been working on installs on a 15 sprinters. Most of them are Dodge and a few of them are MB made.
Dodge ones, on the driver side (one without the sliding door), have a weld in the middle that connects front to the back metal panels.
On the MB ones, there is no weld, but the gap is filled with some kind of a rubbery seal.

My question is, what do I do with the vinyl in the area? Do I cut it on the edge of the metal panel and seal, or I just seal the top and bottom in the rubber area?
See the images, I have found one that shows a bit of the "gap" and one that has the logo installed on the Dodge Sprinter.

Just wrap over it, after brushing the seal with 3M Primer 94. It will help keep it stuck on there.

It's painted caulking. Just lay over it.
