Question on VHB tape

I'm making some 24"x36" 3mm max metal signs using this VHB tape, will three 24" pieces of this tape be enough to hold one sign up or do I need to use more tape.

What model number tape are you using? They all have different hold strengths.

For example using 4950 we use (1) 3" strip per linear foot but with RP45 we use 4" strips

I will be using 3M 4950VHB 3/4" tape onto maxmetal that's being aplyed to a steel wall outdoors

in that case, 3 - 24" pieces should make sure it never comes off..... overkill!

With 4950 I'd use (8) 3" strips - 4 corners and centers on all sides

i would put strips around the outer edge to help seal it and then about 3 strips in the middle so that would give you five total and the two ends.
