Random print head unit hesitation on Mimaki JV22-160

We are using a Mimaki JV22-160 printer with Wasacth Softrip 6.1 software. Recently, there has been random print head unit hesitation between passes. This seems to be more of a problem with the newer print jobs we have ripped. I don't know if this is a printer issue or memory issue, but any thoughts or suggestions wuld be welcome.
