Replacing Linear Encoder on JV33-130

Solventinkjet

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
It's pretty straight forward once you get in there. The main concern is to not damage the new strip during install. Wear gloves to avoid smudging it up with your fingerprints. Be extra careful to not fold/kink the strip or let it run along the sharp sheet metal. Once the old one is out of the machine, clean/dust the area where the new strip will be. Make sure you feed the strip though the encoder sensor so that the sensor straddles the strip. Before turning on the machine after install, move the head back and forth slowly to make sure everything is running smoothly. Especially look closely at the sensor to make sure it is not rubbing on the strip. Once it's in, there aren't any calibrations you need to do but it may be worth it to check your bi-directional head alignments just to be sure.
