Rite-Media ProColour Compatible Ink for Roland TR2

Hi my VG3-540 is out of warranty now and I was looking to order some more ink, the Rite Media TR2 Compatible ink is $99/500 mil the Roland is $200/500ml (Spicers Canada)

I generally keep to the OEM supplies but that is a big difference, has anyone had any experience with the Rite media ink?

Did you ever try out these inks? We have been using them for about a month. Overall they print well. The problem we've run into, however, is that while we were told that it is exactly the same specs as the OEM ink, there are definitely some color differences. None of my Pantones match anymore. Even the Roland Color system chart doesn't match up anymore. I'm waiting on our Spicers contact to get back to me to see if Rite Media has any Versaworks profiles that have corrected this color shift.

Where are you at with you inks right now?

We have used them for a couple of months now and it half the cost, you can't go wrong! I haven't seen any issues with colour difference, however we are not trying to match jobs colours too often. Most of the logos we do on jobs seem to match up reasonable close to me.

Good to hear. Most of our prints seem close (enough). There have just been a couple that have come out substantially different. One was a minty green that went muddy and dark and most grey tones has shifted to more of a blue.
But I agree, at half the cost and no other problems otherwise, I think we'll just print off new swatches and do a new color match. I haven't heard anything back from Spicers yet but I'll update here if they do provide anything useful.
