roland fj52 connection problems HELP

First I want to thank the community for all the helpful info. I refurbished my falcon jr and its running perfect just by reading the forum. So thanks everyone!

I just got a used rolandfj52 converted. Changed everything to brand new. And im using colorchoice rip.

Problem:
I cannot print anything. Tried using parallel cable to usb and it "cannot open port"

Just bought a printserver with crossover cable directly connected to computer and printer and still get nothing. colorchoice hangs on printing 0%. I know im not doing something right.

Funny thing is I connected the falcon jr with a printserver but had a great tutorial to walk me thru it and it worked like a charm.


Anybody with kind advice, tutorial, would be greatly appreciated.

This is my setup just in case anyone needed to know:
Windows XP Pro Service pack 3
Color Choice 4.5 version 2
Roland Hi Fi Jet 52 conversion
Trendnet 1-port parallel print server (fry's)

Well set the network settings in Windows to:
- IP: 192.168.20.10
- Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Then set the printer to
- IP: 192.168.20.20
- Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Then configure the printer in VersaWorks with an IP of 192.168.20.20
