Roland Gr2 cutter with Versaworks 5.5

Hi everyone
I have old Roland Rs 640 printer that work with Versaworks 5.5 Rip (printer does not work with Versaworks 6 or later)
and I want to buy the new Roland GR2 540 cutter plotter
The main question is does this new cutter can work with my old Rs640 printer on the old Versaworks 5.5 or the new cutter works only on Versaworks 6 ??
