Roland pnc 1000 HELP

Can somebody please help me, I just purchased a Roland Pnc 1000 Vinyl Cutter. When I go to cut something the cutter goes to start up but nothing happens. I am using Windows Xp and Corel Draw 12 . I have connected the Vinyl Cutter to the computer via the parrallel port. The drivers that I am using for the cutter I have downloaded from the Roland web site, could this be the problem??
