Roland SC-500 Error message

Anyone with this machine ever get the error message:

I think I have tracked it down to a hardware issue, but neither the user manual nor the Service Tech manual mention this one.

Seems your locking mechanism may be loose..

Trying cleaning the linear encoder, and make sure the locking assembly for the head carriage isn't loose. Make sure the plate of the tool carriage magnet isn't bet. Do a limit position and capping position initialize..

If none of that works, you can contact a local dealer to fix it or maybe it's time to make a move! Hope this helps!
