Had a head strike today, turned printer off and then back on. Went to print something again, did a few passes, and something has shorted and turns the printer off. I tried it a few more times, and keeps doing it. Anyone know what it could be? head cables, scan motor? Help Needed urgently! Any ideas welcomed please!

Linear Rail?

In my 7+ years of servicing Roland printers, I have only seen happen this once in the field.

Turned out to be the linear rail being out of alignment... just enough to cause an electrical to chassis rub during the scan and a resulting short to ground. This turns off the machine like a light switch.

Not a typical adjustment. I advise for you to seek an experienced tech.
