I need some help with settings. My network card is in for repairs and I have managed to install a PCI-E parallel port to carry on printing. The problem is that the printing is snail pace slow. Any help will be appreciated.

throughput of a parallel cable (from memory, last time a transfewred a file over it) is around 50KB/sec. the postscript from a large print can be a few hundred megs. a 200 meg file at that speed is 68 minutes.
