Question Roland SG grainy print results. (Help Please)

Hey guys I need some help please. Am using a Roland SG 540 an all my small prints like labels an so on are abit grainy an not sharp.

I did some alignment an all test prints are ok.
Large prints are ok but anything small with details just grainy.
Can someone help me with this issue please?

Have you played around with different profiles, print speeds and heat settings? What are you currently using and what media?

What is your print head height at? i had grainy prints once because forgot to lower heads after printing banner. make sure head is low and the settings in the machine show low head too

I’ve recently bought the printer an didn’t do much playing around with profiles like that but I’ve recently started using the Roland DGA Gloss Calendar profile since am using a gloss vinyl for small stickers and labels.

Assuming you're printing with Versaworks. Try this: Media Type: Generic Vinyl 1, Print Quality: Standard, Mode: 12p, Halftone: Error Diffusion, Color Management: MAX Density U.S., Print Heater: 35, Dryer 48

Also make sure your design file is using CMYK colors and not set to RGB

Also print everything in Versaworks from EPS files. Even if it's already rasterized in your design program, export to EPS then print. If you print a raster image directly in Versaworks the colors will look off.

So glad I found this post. I am having the same issues with small text for my customer labels. Using Versawork printing to Roland Tru-vis VG@ 540 Except we are also having grainy print issues when printing solid colour labels in orange-yellow colours. But black blues and reds print perfectly.

If that doesn't work, try the GCVP profile, if small details and small in size, I would recommend High quality.
