Roland Sp 300 Ink Issue

Can you help me with an issue? I have a Roland SP 300 and I am getting a seal issue with the magenta and the yellow. The yellow keeps getting magenta in it. I changed the damper, the cap top and it works for a bit and comes back. I had adjusted the cap height in the Service menu but I had it too high so the ink siphoned out. I had it at -.5mm. I chnaged it to 0 and the issue is back.

I did change the manifold back in Jan as the nipple broke removing the damper.

If I run a normal cleaning the test print prints good but then if I run an image it may print fine or it starts out orangy and then changes to yellow.

Currently i ordered oem damper and cap top as the other ones were aftermarket. I also ordered a new manifold in case I didn't seal it correct.

What would you suggest for the cap height or do you think I am doing the right thing.

Please advise any help you could give would be great as I am wasting tons of material, ink, money and time

The ink can only merge in the cap, or in the head in very rare cases (i caused it once by forcing cleaning solution through the head with a syringe, and pressing really hard).

Normally just caused by the cap, or the cap line being clogged. make sure the heads are more or less centered on the caps when it's cleaning, and dump some cleaning solution in to the cap.

Another rare but valid cause is when you have one very full ink, and the other cartridge is low on ink. Also check the printer level.

I would say the sponge on your cap is swollen, and touching the head, causing the ink to wick out of one head, and getting sucked into the other, or what they said. Replace the caps...

Replacing captops should be done a set and then one should perform the cap height adjustment.

What ink is being used?

Check for an empty or very close to empty cartridge as well a possibly clogged drain tube from the exit side of the pump.
