Perform an Environmental Match after you clean the encoder strip...and PLEASE use ALCOHOL ONLY!! Be sure the strip is in it's proper placement in the encoder reader. And, do NOT use the cleaning solvent to clean as this will permanently damage the encoder strip ($$$).
