Need Help Roland Sp540v Servo board replace

Hi all
All of a sudden when I got into office and wanting to print, I got a head knock followed by scan motor error 0080, after I switched the off, I got a noise that almost made me sh*t my pants and a smell of something burning, after inspecting the printer. I saw the servo board IC2 burned, after reading through multiple forums. I was confident my scan motor and servo board needs to be replaced. I managed to source both and installed them.
Now I am facing issue that the fan/vacuum does not go on at all, so the vinyl is bubbling in between the pinch rollers causing the heads to scrape on the vinyl. Any ideas or fixes will be much appreciated.

It is most likely that when the old servo board shorted it has also blown your heater control board ( this controls the heater functions and also the fan ) and also possibly the heater junction board. Both of these are connected from the servo board, so a serious short could have damaged those as well.
I have used tested OEM ones in stock if you need them

probably the way to go.
i would trust your assessment. i have bought many bad boards on ebay, especially ones that are not easy to test

What will the cost be and shipment to South Africa, Just a quick question, If the heater control board is blown, wont this effect the heater also? because my printer heats perfect.

It can also effect the heater, but it depends exactly what it blows on the board. Sometimes a short can just damage part of a chip or other parts which can make finding faults harder! The fans themselves would be ok as there is nothing really to blow on them.
I will send you a message on here now with the details of the boards

A lot of sellers sadly don't seem to bother testing them. Whenever I get a printer in for parts I always test everything on it to make sure they work before I dismantle them!

I just replaced the heater control board that I got locally, still same issue, heater works perfectly though, it prints perfectly, but no fan/vacuum to keep material down:rolleyes:

Was that board fully tested before selling it to you? Also, was it the correct one as a lot of sellers sell the SP300V one thinking it also fits the SP540V and it isn't the same.
You can also test the heater control board to see if it is putting out any voltage to the fans. If it isnt then the board isnt working properly and you should return it.

on these boards, don't you have to match firmware?
that can be torture

The board came out of a SP540v that had issues with some issues, but apparently this board tested
