Roland sp540v wrong media size

Hello guys!

New to me is this SP540V

had a few problems so far, had to flip the encoder strip so now i can print full width 54"

Well.....i thought anyhow

It does its check when loading the media, says my 54" roll is 50.7" and i can watch the reader stop at this 50.7

Any body know whats going on why its says its 50.7" ??

it measures the pinch rollers not the material.

ahhh...that makes sense

so i couldnt get it to print at the start, the opposite end, so i moved the media over to utilize the beginning of the sheet, need to set that up somehow i guess, moving that pinch roller on the far right didnt seem to effect anything? that why i moved the media.....

no matter what i do i can only get 53" out of this, whats the secret?

That is it. It holds 54", it prints a little less. 53" is all you'll get.

There are calibration routines in the service mode. But that will only make sure 53" is 53".
