OK So I am working with a Roland VersaCamm sp 540v and trying to get the contour cut working properly. I keep having issues with it walking. I printed out some decals that are approximately 3 1/2" by 3" and they have copy that is to be plotted out. I am trying to do it on the VersaCamm because half of the decal is digitally printed and the rest is red or white copy. MY issue is that I have printed out 6 lines of 10 decals and used the registration/crop marks for alignment. The first 4 lines of decals cut fine within the boundaries, but after that it starts walking and cutting along the edges and I cannot use the last lines of decals because they are ruined.
I was told that I needed to let them dry for 24 hours before cutting, and am trying to cut without laminate. I also suspect that the vinyl is too thin, as it keeps curling on the edges after cutting as well. I am having a lot of difficulty weeding the ones that are cut properly because of burs where the vinyl is not cut all the way around the path.
I have tried to cut by setting up pages, and this fixes the issue of walking but the vinyl keeps curling up after cutting. Does this mean I must laminate before cutting, or am I using the wrong thickness of vinyl to print on? It just feels very thin, but my boss insists that it is the correct vinyl. I think this vinyl requires laminate because it is so thin.
