I’m from Maine. I recently purchased a used VP540 from a dealer in Mass. I’m having some problems with what I would call color overspray?? Actually not even over spray. In the picture you see slight banding which was way worse I did all the calibrations that I could without being in service mode and did a powerful clean and manual cleaning to get the banding this good. What bothers me the most is inside the yellow on this particular image ( shows on all colors ) there are lots of cyan and magenta specks making it grainy. Head test prints look fine. This is driving me nuts!! Also good to meet you all. I find all of your comments very informative an I thank you for that.

Your magenta is missing some bars in the test print. That can cause some quality issues. Cannot see the yellow if it is missing any. If it is, it will be a little worse again. A blue light (led keychain for example) will allow you to easily see the yellow test print.

I ran the print test the magenta had 5 nozzles messed up upon inspection during a manual cleaning I found 2 cat hairs on the head. (Stupid cat ) after manual clean I did a ten minute head soak and got it back with only 2 nozzles not firing. Did a test print of a 100% yellow and it still has othe specks of color in it. What could it be? I have tried everything even in the software on the box that says to preserve original colors.. wife is ready to kill me because I’m spending all my time trying to dial this in.. HELP!! Lol

Did your dealer offer any type of warrantee on the printer? I would be calling them in.
Yes they gave me 90 days . When I bought it they said “ our service guy is up your way all the time... he was wrong. With a 3 hour drive one way they are trying to get some other service scheduled up here before coming. I’m ready to take it back. ( side note, the dealer is a great guy. The printer printed perfectly when I went to get it. The trip to Maine in a tandem trailer ( which I was told would be ok) did something to it... so I wait....... ) frustrated wasting ink and material not knowing what I’m doing... on the brighter side I have read enough to become a basic printer tech lol
