Roland VS 640i and Flexi Sign

A friend of mine just bought a used VS640 I
The warranty is expired, the technical support has also expired as we tried o login under the serial number of the printer...,
He has a Flexisign pro 7.X something and he would like to us the flexi rip for his new printer , he sold his old SP 540 and the old flexi only came with the SP 300 and SP 540printer/cutter driver..., where could we obtain a new driver for his VS640 for Flexi?
Currently running SP 540 driver and the printer prints however there are problems with contour cutting..
I am not a Roland user and I do not have much Roland related experience..., after seeing his printer I would choose Mimaki 100 times over a Roland printer...

Roland technical support does not expire (warranties do), you can contact Roland directly via phone at 800-542-2307 with a valid serial number.

The Roland VS Series did not exist at the time that Flexi 7 was last shipping, and that is why there is no driver for that machine in that version of Flexi (7.x). You (his) options would include the following:

1) If he wants to drive the plotter from Flexi, it would needed to be updated to a more current version of FlexiSIGN that includes the VS driver (this option would have a fee associated it).
2) Drive the device from Roland Versaworks RIP instead of Flexi (no cost associated with this option).
3) Drive the plotter from a 3rd-party RIP (presumably one that would need to be purchased).

thanks for the reply,

so new version of Flexi would resolve this river issue, well hes gonna have to dish some money out...
Currently running versaworks as well but that thing is so limited o compare to flexi rip...
have e more question ..., when roland scans for the registration marks to contour cut shouldn't there be a red laser light scanning for the registration marks,we are having issues where printer can not find registration marks to contour cut..
What is the process if someone won't mind explaining ...
