S40600 C1 gone mid job - blank test

We have an S40600 which has been working perfectly. Mid-job teal started printing as green. We did a nozzle test and C1 is completely blank. We did a medium and power cleaning and neither did anything. We changed the cyan cartridge and checked the line for air bubbles and none are visible.
I did a little research and saw bad damper or print head as the possibilities. We had the print head replaced maybe a year or two ago (as a “troubleshooting step” under warranty - turned out that it was an unrelated issue).
Has anyone else run into this?

Its most likely a bad head, I've had this happen, replaced the head good to go. While you wait, switch to 1 head mode, its slow but better then nothing.

I hope you are wrong :).
I don’t know why the head would go back so quickly. I am confused by your reply though since it is a single head machine. I would like a way to determine if it is the head or damper or something else. Replacing the head is a mighty expensive troubleshooting step.

Sorry, I thought you had the 60600, thats my bad. I would say damper replacement is as much if not more expensive then a head replacement. If you have the service program, there are some things you can run, like purging the line to replace the ink in the system, but only with the program.

The damper is much cheaper than the printhead, we service these printers, but I am in Los Angeles, where are you. If all the nozzles are completely missing, its a 50/50 between damper and printhead. I replaced a printhead a couple months ago, no white on the 2nd channel, solved the problem.
I do not know who techie you are but could give some suggestions.

Teal turning green indicates that cyan is not participating in the color mix, leaving only yellow and other colors.
With C1 completely blank, this is not a color shift or a partial clog ,it is a full channel with no output.

Medium and power cleanings made no improvement, which rules out a minor clog.
Replacing the cyan cartridge and confirming there are no air bubbles in the ink line rules out the cartridge and the upstream ink supply.

The most likely cause is a damper failure. Internally, the damper may be completely blocked, the membrane may have collapsed, or the internal valve may be stuck.
Ink cannot reach the printhead, the nozzle test shows the entire color missing, and cleaning cycles cannot pull ink.

Even if the printhead is new, a failed damper alone can still cause a complete loss of ink output.
