sc 540 not cutting

my sc540 that i just bought is not cutting? the blade is just not going down to the material..it was brought down 2 flights of stair and traveled in a van? what can i do to check what is wrong ....i am having a service next week but am one of those fix it yourself types...thanks

Hi Rik. I have the same problem with my SC540. Mine was moved the same way, down stairs and in a van.

What was the fix??

Usually the cut carriage cable is the problem, it's also cheap. next often is the cut carriage board, also cheap.

Well I didn't struggle I just replaced the part.
