Screen printing flyer

I'm working up a layout for a flyer we can pass out and post around the area. I like the layout I have, but what's bothering me is the copy. There is really nothing attention grabbing about it. I'm looking to see if anyone has any ideas about ways that I could word the ad that would have a bit more impact. Maybe something like "Make an Impression with screen printed t-shirts" or something like that? Maybe some kind of catchy tagline or anything that could make this better. I need some inspiration, because while I feel this flyer will be effective, I feel like it's missing something still that could really benefit us and perhaps better persuade potential customers to pay attention.

However, I want to steer away from things like "T-shirts as low as $X.XX each" because everybody does that and we try to focus more on quality and service than we do on low prices.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance. :)

I would emphasis that they are custom designed or can be. Try to include the design aspect of what you do. I think the flyer looks good but see what you mean.

You need a call to action. Someone who is smarter than me will probably chime in, but here's an idea:

Since you're giving away a flyer to whom I presume are cold contacts, you need some kind of introductory offer if they are already buying tee's from your competition. If they don't know about your competition already, you can likely get away with just introducing yourself.

I believe there needs to be a WOW factor to get someone to pick up the phone for the first time, and the only way you can get them back a second and third time takes GREAT service at a reasonable (not cheap) price.

Where do you plan on distributing them?

Schools, local Athletic Clubs etc.

Excellent advice, and we do give away free t-shirts with our branding on them...koozies...hats...you name it, we give them away.

Well, we are in a small town but we are 14 miles from a major metropolitan area (Peoria, IL). Our plan is really just to hand them out, mail them out stuffed inside brochures, pin them up on local bulletin boards at area businesses and things like that. We actually did discuss windshields, but my opinion is that might peeve more people off than it would do us good, and I tend to agree with myself.

I like your flyer. I wouldn't put a damn thing about price on it. If anything I would include how you focus on quality and service, and have an invite for them ... you know "come on in today, to find out!" or something similar. ... but even then that might be a print it on the back thing.

Oh, and your flyer would do pretty darn well as a postcard you could use in a direct mail campaign through usps. it's pretty darn inexpensive to use the service and would hit you where you want to spread the word to without covering windshields.

It does look good. Quality is Job #1. Remember that slogan?

Think of a call to action slogan...

And don't put it on wind shields. In our area they consider that littering. I've printed many flyers that ended getting a client in a jam with the local PD. Do they listen to me? I'm just a print shop, what do I know.
 
What I'm kind of leaning toward is something like "MAKE AN IMPRESSION!" (uninspired, I know...sigh) as the main header copy and something like "with Screen Printed T-Shirts and Apparel from Simply Signs & Screenprinting". So this brings me to a question. Is it better to use a catch phrase that doesn't immediately lend itself to the product being marketed? Will that draw people in to find out what it is that the ad is actually referring to? Or is it better to come right out with something like "Quality Screen Printed T-SHIRTS" and maybe some supporting sub copy that will immediately lend itself to the product at hand?

Any thoughts?

I'm with you there. I don't like gimmicky stuff and "Prices as low as...Blah, blah" seems overused and gimmicky to me.

As far as printing on the back goes, I'm thinking we will do another ad identical to this one on the back, but only for signs, banners, etc. instead.
 
Oh yeah. And I just realized I completely forgot to include the City, State, and zip. DOH! Oh well, at least it's my own project and not a client's. I'll have to fix that first thing Monday when I get back to work.
