scroll mouse and flexi

Hey all. I have a question about Flexi and my scroll mouse.

I have used Flexi for about 12 years and love it (version 7.5). Anyway sometimes when I scroll the mouse to move an object up or down on the screen it instead adjusts the width of the object, say a rectangle. So instead of moving it, it tries to resize it. I always catch it in time and have to do a couple of undos. It doesn't happen all the time, but I can't figure out what I'm doing to make the mouse act like that. (The mouse is a logitech with the center scroll wheel.

I have gone into preferences but I don't see anything that addresses what I'm looking for. Ideas anyone?

maybe you accidentally click it before wheeling? (maybe?)

I've done this with Flexi 10, if it's the same issue- the designer panel has been selected and it's resizing in increments. before scrolling, click on the image itself or (better) whitespace in the design window.
