Thanks for your reply .When I power off then on it doesn't reset it throws a error code which is to set the gap sensor .when I try to set it as per the manual the printer won't allow me to enter any numerical values ."so just wondering if there is another password to access this or whether I can restore a previous backup point thanks paul

Correct you will need to be in service mode to Adjust the capping position and or Gap Sensor height.

What is the error code?
If it is

System Error 3130: Gap Sensor Error

Then you will need to be in service mode and will need a jig to correctly set the media thickness sensor.
These machines usually have a printed copy of all the settings and you can just input them when you are in service mode. If you do not have it, you will need to re-calibrate a lot of settings. In this case, I suggest that you get technician to do them.

It will be like replacing the main board without the settings/parameters needed.

Turn the power off and on again to boot the system.

<6> Enter the correction values for mechanical adjustment and head

adjustment.

<If parameters are recorded>

- If the mechanical adjustment parameters for the old main board are recorded,

enter the correction values related to the mechanical and head adjustments

without especially performing the adjustment.

<If parameters are not recorded>

- Perform the mechanical and head adjustments, and enter the correction

values related to the mechanical and head adjustments.

Hi yes the code is 3130 so looks like a full re-calibration as when in service mode you can bring up the gap sensor value / measure height but won't save any values looked at the manual and there is some sort of jig required to set the height does anyone know of any technicians local to Chester UK thanks paul
