Shift in raster engraving

Hello,
I have a Universal laser and am raster engraving acrylic panels from imported PDF files as text and as curves. I have noticed there is a greater tendency for a shift to occur in vertical strokes when engraving as curves rather than text.
Any one else see this happening?
