Solvent Printing on Acrylic Substrate

I'm wanting to make the switch from cutters to a flatbed printer! The trouble is my colors look very opaque in the samples I received from Roland on the UV-LEF 12 inch printer. I'm printing on a fogged acrylic substrate and the black looks more like gray and very see through.

We even tried under laying with white and that did solve the issue however the process took over twice as long. And I was actually hoping to buy a solvent non-UV printer for half the price. Does anyone know how well Eco Solvent ink works on acrylic? Is there a special ink or a best practices way to print on a "opaque acrylic substrate" to get the colors to pop?

Thx!
