SP-300: Vacuum off when media not loaded?

Has anyone come across a setting such that the vacuum can be disabled (off) when there is no media loaded?

Im pretty sure with mine if you leave the roller lever up its off -- I also have changed my standby time sooner too.

Mine goes into a "reduced" vacuum mode, but doesn't shut completely off unless the machine is off.

gottcha -- Im fairly new to the 300 but I did notice it was noiseier when I left the rollers down then if I didnt :0) -- watching the thread now lol
