SP-540 Pump change

I believe its time to change the pump and I'm wondering how difficult it will be for me.

I have done all of the other preventive maintenance items myself and would like to do this also. I have changed the wipers and scraper, caps, dampers, and cleaned the decoder strip, and of coarse the regular cleaning once to twice a week.

I am thinking i could handle changing the pump, but wanted input from people that have done this themselves.

It is simple. We changed our 3 pumps on our SC-540. It took about an hour. Get the service manual for it and do everything yourself from now on (if you feel comfortable).

Then you know to change the switch setting Page 12 from "0" to "1" so the pump runs correctly if you're installing the new style pump. And, don't forget to get the kit for the pump change.
Not all information is in the manuals.
