sp300v blade replcement

Hi everyone, First thanks for all the very helpful posts that help a newbe!!

I would like to install a new contour cutting blade in my sp300v and I've did a search and came up dry. What depth does the blade protrude out of the holder? Does it make a difference on vinyl thickness? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The manual does not help at all.

On mine I just run it with with about half the sharp part sticking out.
Does that make sence? I have never noticed any different from setting it at a different place though.

Thanks Mosh. I bought this macnie used and the blade sticks out a good 1/8" which I think is to far.

You don't want it protruding WAY out there, but the amount it protrudes makes no difference on cutting performance, unless it is not out far enough to cut thru adequately (and the nose of the balde holder drags on the vinyl). The only thing that controls how much it cuts is the blade force. Try to minimize the amount it protrudes, but don't make a big deal of it.
